Join us at the historic Sydney Observatory to get an unrivalled view of Sydney as the city switches its lights off for Earth Hour 2018. Discover this inspiring global initiative and enjoy an evening of community, astronomy and climate action. We will switch off the lights for an hour at 8.30pm, as we join with millions of other Australians around the country showing support for climate change action.
Enjoy live music, talks from environmental experts, shadow puppets and other hands-on activities for the family. Our astronomers will guide you through the wonders of the night sky with telescope viewings* and sessions in our digital planetarium throughout the evening.
Food and drink available for purchase, or bring your own to picnic under the stars. This is an alcohol free event.
*This program is held regardless of the weather. If viewing the stars through the telescopes is not possible due to sky conditions, additional activities will be arranged. Tickets are non-refundable.
